Catherine Bell (actress)

In 1994, Bell starred in the Dolph Lundgren film Men of War. In the course of filming the film in Thailand, Bell and her co-star Trevor Goddard bonded over contracting amoebic dysentery. Goddard played Bell's sporadic love interest Mic Brumby on JAG following the year. Goddard died in June 2003, after a drug overdose. Bell, who was grieving, described the incident as "horrible". She was given a three-line appearance in an episode of the NBC series JAG. The show is based on the work of the United States Department of the Navy's Judge advocate General Office. When NBC decided to cancel the show, CBS picked it up and restructured it with Sarah MacKenzie, a Marine Corps lawyer. Bell tried out for the role and was selected for the role. The pilot episode was the first to feature Bell talking Persian. Bell was in the role until the year 2005, when the show was cancelled. Bell started her career on the ensemble drama series of Lifetime Army Wives in 2007. Bell was Denise Sherwood (the wife of an U.S. Army lieutenant colonel) who is the victim of domestic violence by her son, aged 17. Bell played Cassandra Nightingale (the principal character in Hallmark's The Good Witch (2008) and its sequels The Good Witch's Gift (2010) and The Good Witch's Family (2011). She was also a co-executive producer for all the films. She also appeared in Last Man Standing (2011) in Lifetime.
