Catherine Bell (actress)

 Bell was one of the main actors in Men of War, a 1994 Dolph Lundgren film. Bell as well as Trevor Goddard became close friends during filming in Thailand. Goddard was to play Bell's intermittent love partner Mic Brumby in JAG the year after. Goddard passed away in June 2003 after a poisoning. Bell, who was grieving, described the incident as "horrible". In 1995, she was offered a three-line role in one episode of the NBC TV show JAG, which centers on the work of the United States Department of the Navy's Judge Advocate General office. NBC pulled the show in the aftermath of it was picked up by CBS who changed the format of the show and added an female Marine Corps lawyer character, Sarah MacKenzie. Bell tried out for the role and was selected for it. One episode of the show established that MacKenzie is Iranian-American and featured Bell who spoke Persian. This role was hers until the year 2005, when the show was cancelled. Bell started her career on the Lifetime's ensemble drama series Army Wives in 2007. She played Denise Sherwood (the wife of the U.S. Army lieutenant colonel) who is subject to domestic violence by her son, her teenage son, during the initial season. Bell was Cassandra Nightingale (the principal character in Hallmark's The Good Witch (2008) and its sequels The Good Witch's Gift (2010) and The Good Witch's Family (2011). Bell also served as co-executive producer on all of the films. She also appeared in the Lifetime movie Last Man Standing (2011).
