Scott Campbell

 Campbell, in his 20s in his 20s, relocated in his 20s to San Francisco where he began work as a copy editor for City Lights Bookstore for Lawrence Ferlinghetti. He began tattooing at that time. He traveled Asia and Europe, where he tattooed for cash, after which he moved to Williamsburg in 2001.When Scott moved to New York in 2005 he opened his own tattoo shop, called Saved Tattoo. It was here that Scott's work led to fame. Scott's first celebrity client was Heath Ledger. He commissioned an unassuming bird to fly from his left forearm. The first show he had sold out at OHWOW Gallery in Miami (April 2009). The gallery also opened a space in New York at which Campbell had a solo show in April of 2010. His solo show "Bless This Mess" was on display at their Zurich gallery in January 2012.Louis Vuitton Creative Director Marc Jacobs collaborated with Scott Campbell, whereby Scott customized a number of extravagant leather bags for an men's collection to be used in the S/S 2011 collection.In November 2015, Campbell debuted 'Whole Glory" at Milk Studios located in New York City. The event saw 23 people receiving tattoos by Campbell through a gap in a wall. The participants did not communicate any way with the artist prior to getting tattooed. Afterwards, he tattooed a piece of his choice. The exhibition Whole Glory was also exhibited in Los Angeles, in Downtown LA, Moscow at the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art and, most recently, in Covent Garden in London, presented by Lazarides Gallery. London's "Whole Glory" included a collection of tattooed skins crafted from pig skins, in conjunction with Campbell's designs, and set in stainless steel frames, which were infused with liquid preservative.
