In August 2014, Bilzerian was banned from an Miami nightclub after kicking model Vanessa Castano in the face in a fight. Bilzerian said that Castano as well as another woman slayed the woman who was with him. Castano stated, "There were two young girls sitting next to me at a table who were fighting. People started getting shoved and I tried to break up them. Then Dan pushed me off of the banquette, and once I fell he kicked me into the face. "Castano has filed a lawsuit against Bilzerian later for her injuries. Castano demanded US$1,000,000 to settle the lawsuit in the hope that he'd receive higher in punitive damages depending on his income. In 2014, Bilzerian was involved with Janice Griffith in a legal issue. In April 2014, Griffith was photographed with Bilzerian in a Hustler magazine photoshoot. This included Bilzerian throwing Griffith off the roof of the house and into a pool. Griffith was thrown off the pool, hitting the edge and breaking her foot. The 18-year-old asked Bilzerian for $85,000 to cover her injuries, which was rejected. In December 2014, she was able to file a lawsuit against Hustler and Bilzerian. Bilzerian's lawyer argued that Griffith was contracted for the event by Hustler as well as that Hustler contracted Bilzerian to host the event, and that Bilzerian wasn't at fault. Hustler's lawyer claimed in the month of January that Griffith sustained injuries because of the throw.
