Jennifer Lynn Connelly (born December 12th in 1970) is an American actress. She began her career as a child model before becoming an actor in the 1984 crime film Once Upon a Time in America. After working as a model for several years, she chose to focus on acting and was in several films including the horror film Phenomena (1985), Labyrinth (1986) and Career Opportunities (1991) and The Rocketeer (1991). Connelly was praised for her performance in Dark City (1998), as well as her role in the role of Alicia Nash in Ron Howard’s biopic A Beautiful Mind (2001). Her following films include the superhero film Hulk (2003) and the horror film Dark Water (2005), the psychological drama Little Children (2006), the drama film Blood Diamond (2006), the science fiction film The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008) and the romantic comedy He's Not That Into You (2009) as well as the biopic Creation (2009). In the subsequent decades Connelly portrayed support roles in Aronofsky's biblical epic film Noah (2014) and in action films Alita: Battle Angel (2019) and Top Gun: Maverick (2022). Since 2020, she has been a part of the TNT dystopian TV series Snowpiercer.Connelly was named Amnesty International Ambassador for Human Rights Education in 2005. She was the face of Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton and Revlon cosmetics. She was the company's first worldwide model in the year 2012.
