Samantha Ruth Prabhu

 Samantha Ruth Prabhu (formerly: Samantha Akkineni; born 28 April 1987) is an Indian actress who mainly works in the Telugu as well as Tamil industry of film. She has received several awards, including six South Indian International Movie Awards as well as four South Filmfare Awards, and two Andhra Pradesh State Nandi Awards. She is a leading actress in Tamil and Telugu film. Samantha worked part-time modeling while she studied commerce. She was soon offered films and she began her acting career with Gautham Vasudev Menon's critically-acclaimed Telugu romance film, Ye Maaya Chesave (2010) and earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Debut Actress as well as the Nandi Award. Samantha was the second actress to be awarded the Filmfare Award for Best Actress-Tamil as well as the Filmfare Award for Best Actress-Telugu in the same year for her performance in Eega (2012) and Neethaane EN Ponvasantham (2012). Since then, she has primarily chosen to play the leading female role in hero-centric Telugu and Tamil films, gaining box office successes through films such as Dookudu (2011) as well as the dramas for families, Seethamma Valkitlo Sirimalle Chettu (2012) as well as Attarintiki Daredi (2013) and AR Murugadoss's Tamil action film, Kaththi (2014). Her performance in the film A Aa (2016) also received favorable reviews and earned Samantha her fourth Filmfare Award, while her next films Theri (2016), 24 (2016), Mersal (2017), Rangasthalam (2018), and Mahanati (2018) also proved commercially successful. Her role in Super Deluxe, Majili and Oh!, which were released in 2019, won the film further praise from critics. Baby and Jaanu her only 2020 film.
