Peter Brian Hegseth (born June 6, 1980) is an American TV host as well as an author.Hegseth is an Army National Guard officer and the former executive director of the political advocacy groups Vets For Freedom and Concerned Veterans for America. The Koch brothers financed the conservative advocacy group which promotes more privatization for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Hegseth was initially thought to be the head of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs under the Trump administration. However, David Shulkin was elected instead in January 2017. He was a prominent supporters of Donald Trump's presidential campaign and served as an occasional advisor to him throughout his presidency. According to reports, he convinced Trump that three American soldiers convicted or charged with war crimes in connection with the shooting of noncombatants in Iraq were to be pardoned. Hegseth was an Guantanamo bay commander during his military service . He also advocated for the treatment of the detained inmates.
