Pete Hegseth

 Peter Brian Hegseth was born June 6th the 6th of June, 1980. He is an American television host, author, and officer in the Army National Guard. He is also an ex-executive director of two advocacy groups Vets For Freedom (formerly Concerned Veterans for America). The former, a conservative advocacy group funded by the Koch brothers, supports greater privatization of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Hegseth was initially rumored to be the director of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs under the Trump administration. However, David Shulkin was elected instead in January 2017. In 2016, he emerged as a strong supporter and all-round ally of Donald Trump's campaign and was an advisor occasionally to Trump throughout his presidency. He was reportedly able to convince Trump to pardon three American soldiers who were convicted of war crimes related to the shooting of non-combatants in Iraq. Hegseth was a platoon leader at Guantanamo Bay in his military career, defended the treatment of inmates detained in Guantanamo.
