Born in Albuquerque and raised in Houston and Miami, Bezos graduated from Princeton University in 1986. He has a degree both in computer science and electrical engineering. He was employed in Wall Street in a variety of fields related to it from 1986 until the beginning of 1994. Bezos founded Amazon late 1994 during a journey between New York City and Seattle. The company was initially an online bookshop and has since grown to include a range of other e-commerce items and services, such as video and audio streaming cloud computing, as well as artificial intelligence. It is the largest online sales business as well as the biggest Internet company by revenue, and the most renowned provider of virtual assistants and cloud infrastructure services via its Amazon Web Services branch.Bezos founded the aerospace manufacturing company and suborbital spaceflight business Blue Origin in 2000. Blue Origin's New Shepard vehicle flew into space in 2015 and then successfully landed back on Earth. He also bought the major American newspaper The Washington Post in 2013 for $250 million. He also manages several other investments via his venture capital firm, Bezos Expeditions. In September 2021 Bezos founded biotechnology firm Altos Labs together with Mail.ru founder Yuri Milner.
