Garth Brooks

 Troyal Garth Brooks, born February 7, 1962 is an American country artist and singer. His integration of rock and pop elements in the country genre has gained his popularity, especially in the United States with success on the country music single and album charts, multi-platinum records as well as record-breaking live performances while also crossing over into the pop mainstream arena. Brooks is the only artist in history of music who has released nine albums which have earned diamond status in the United States (surpassing the Beatles previous record of six) These albums are Garth Brooks (diamond), No Fences (17x platinum), Ropin' the Wind (14x platinum), The Chase (diamond), In Pieces (diamond), The Hits (diamond), Sevens (diamond), Double Live (21x platinum), and The Ultimate Hits (diamond). [6] From 1989 to now, Brooks has released 23 records in all including 13 studio albums as well as two live albums as well as three compilation albums, three Christmas albums and four box sets, along with seventy-seven singles. He has won several awards in his career including two Grammy Awards, 17 American Music Awards (including "Artist of the 1990s") and the RIAA Award for best-selling solo album artist in the century in the U.S.Troubled by conflicts between work and family obligations, Brooks retired from recording and performing in 2001 and 2005.During this time, he recorded millions of albums under an exclusive distribution agreement with Walmart and occasionally released new singles.In 2005, Brooks started a partial comeback, giving select performances and releasing two compilation albums. Brooks launched Garth at Wynn in 2009, a weekend-long weekly residency for concerts at the Encore Theatre in Las Vegas.
