Jolie was just a kid when she first appeared on the screen alongside her father Jon Voight in Lookin' to Get Out (1982). Her film career started a decade later in Cyborg 2 (1993). She then landed her first role as a major actor in Hackers (1995). She was in critically acclaimed biographical cable film George Wallace (1997) and Gia (1998), and was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in 1999's drama Girl, Interrupted. She was a star in Lara Croft, Tomb Raider (2001) in which she played the lead character of the video game's the heroine. Her action-star career grew with Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) and Wanted (2008). Salt (2010) and The Tourist (2010). She received critical acclaim and nominations for her performances in the dramas A Mighty Heart (2007), Changeling (2008) and Salt (2010). Her most notable commercial successes include the fantasy movie Maleficent (2014) as well as its 2019 sequel, and the action film Eternals (2021). Since 2008, she's been a voice actor in Kung Fu Panda's animated film series. Jolie has also written and directed the films wrote the war dramas In the Land of Blood and Honey (2011), Unbroken (2014) and First They Killed My Father (2017).
