 Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty (nee Maraj; born December 8th 1982) is professionally known as Nicki Minaj , is a Trinidadian-born[a] rapper, singer and songwriter from the United States. Her fame is based on her musical versatility, her animated flow in her rapping, alter egos and accents. After releasing three mixtapes between 2007 and 2009, Minaj received her first major recognition. Pink Friday (2010) was her debut album and reached the top of the Billboard 200 charts. Its fifth single, "Super Bass", was ranked third on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and in 2021, it was certified diamond by RIAA.Minaj's sequel album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded (2012) was a look at the dance music genre and her vocals, reaching number one across several countries. The lead single, "Starships", reached the top five of 15 countries. Her third album, The Pinkprint (2014) focused on more personal issues and was a return to her hip-hop roots. The album's second single, "Anaconda", reached second place on the Hot 100 and, in 2021, the music video became the first by one female rapper on her own to reach 1 billion views on YouTube. In 2018, she released Queen, her fourth album. It was followed by "Chun-Li" which was a top ten hit. In 2019, the collaboration she made with Karol G, "Tusa", became the longest-running number-one track in the Argentina Hot 100 chart. In 2020, Minaj achieved her first two Hot 100 number-one singles, with her remix on Doja Cat's "Say So" and her collaboration with 6ix9ine, "Trollz". The mixtape she released in 2009 Beam Me Up Scotty was renewed in 2021. She became the second-highest debut female rapper mixtape to reach number two on the Billboard 200 charts. The title track of her forthcoming fifth studio album, "Super Freaky Girl" was the first solo song by female rappers to debut at the top of the Hot 100.
