 Vea was able to record a sack , as well as two pass deflections that were career-best in the week 12. He also nabbed the touchdown pass of just one yard from Jameis Winston. This meant that Vea was the first player in defense since J. J. Watt in 2014 to record a sack and get a touchdown during the same game. He is the 9th player in NFL history to accomplish both at the same time, and the heaviest player to ever in NFL history to catch a touchdown at 347 pounds.] Overall, he started all 16 games and recorded 35 total tackles. He also had 12 quarterback hits and three defenses of passes. the game on Thursday Night Football against the Chicago Bears in Week 5, Vea was injured to his right leg and ankle after making a tackle on the running back David Montgomery. Prior to the injury, Vea recorded one sack on Nick Foles during the 20-19 loss. Vea was placed in injured reserve on October 13, 2020. Vea was added to the reserve/COVID-19 list by the squad on the 28th of November, 2020 and then moved back to injured reserve on December 5. Vea was released from injured reserve on the 22nd of January 2021. Vea was a Buccaneer's defensive tackle during Super Bowl LV's win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Vea was also injured reserve on January 22, 2021. Vea was then activated from the injured reserve. Vea's fifth year option was bought by the Buccaneers, which guaranteed Vea $7.6M for 2022's season.
