Valeri Bure

 Valeri Vladimirovich "Val" Bure (/'va:leri bU'reI/; Russian: Valerii Vladimirovich Bure, IPA: [va'ljerjIj bU're]; born June 13, 1974) is a Russian-Americanformer ice hockey right winger. He played 10 seasons in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Montreal Canadiens, Calgary Flames, Florida Panthers, St. Louis Blues, and Dallas Stars. A second round selection of the Canadiens 33rd overall in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft, Bure appeared in the one NHL All-Star Game, in 2000. In 1999-2000, Bure dominated the Flames with 35 goals and 75 goals. He and his brother Pavel set the NHL record for siblings scoring more than 93 goals in the course of a season. Since 1996, he is married to actress Candace Cameron Bure. In 1991 He left the Soviet Union to play junior hockey for the Spokane Chiefs in the Western Hockey League. He was the first Russian player to play in the history of the WHL. On the international stage the team was a representative of Russia on numerous occasions. Bure was part of the bronze-winning team at the 1994 World Junior Championship, and Bure was also a two-time Olympian medalist. Bure as well as the Russians were awarded the silver medal in 1998 as well as the bronze in 2002.
