Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13, 1989) is an American musician and singer. Swift's discography includes many genres and her songwriting, which is often inspired by her own life has attracted a wide range of press attention and critical acclaim. Swift was born in West Reading, Pennsylvania, Swift moved to Nashville at the age of 14 to be a country musician. In 2004, she signed an arrangement for songwriting with Sony/ATV Music Publishing and in 2005, she signed a recording agreement with Big Machine Records. Her 2006 self-titled debut album was the first female country artist to co-write or write songs for a U.S. platinum-certified album entirely.Swift's forthcoming albums, Fearless (2008) and Speak Now (2010), explored country pop. The former's "Love Story" and "You Belong with me" were the first country tracks to reach the top of the U.S. pop and all-genre airplay charts, respectively. She experimented with electronic and rock styles on Red (2012), which featured the debut Billboard Hot 100 number-one song, "We Are Never Ever Coming Back Together" as well as eschewing her country image in her synth-pop album, 1989 (2014), supported by chart-topping songs "Shake It Off", "Blank Space", and "Bad Blood". Media scrutiny influenced the urban-themed Reputation (2017) as well as its number-one single "Look What You Have Made Me Do".
