Ryuuji Takasu

 Ryuuji Takasu (Gao Xu Long Er , Takasu Ryuji) is the main male protagonist. He is a 16-year-old pupil in high school, and is entering his second year in class 2-C. His sanpaku eyes can make him look intimidating and cause many misunderstandings. Ryuuji was born into the home of a single parent without a father, and has since mastered to be a self-sufficient. Ryuuji is an expert cook, and keeps a neat house to the point that he is almost obsessed. He is also a pro at sewing and helps Taiga Aisaka with household chores, which she otherwise would be unable to complete. He's the only person that is able to stop Taiga Aisaka's tiger-like palm at school. Due to the misconceptions that arise due to his appearance, and also the way his upbringing was in the past, he's prone to look down on himself, yet he's kind and selfless even to the point of being a tad selfish. Despite his troubles, Ryuuji is rather calm in most situations and is competent, intelligent and has excellent grades, even when compared with Yusaku Kitamura (Ryuuji's greatest friend).In the light novels, he sees a tender side of Taiga which she hides from everyone. In the anime, he is insecure about the girls' emotions, specifically about things between him, taiga, Minori Kushieda and Ami Kawashima.
