Ring LLC is a home security and smart home company that is owned by Amazon. Ring produces home security products which include the Ring Video Doorbell smart front doorbell. It also hosts an app called Neighbors that lets users share their footage online. Ring also provides video footage captured by its cameras as well as data of its Neighbors app to law enforcement agencies on request. The police partnerships it has formed have been criticized by civil rights advocacy groups for creating an intrusive private surveillance system. Security concerns about privacy have increased since Mayor London Breed of San Francisco has backed ordinances to permit city police to be able to view Ring footage at any moment
