Lupita Nyong'o

 Lupita Nyong'o (US, /lu/pi:t@ ’njo:NGoUor Swahili pronunciation : [lu’pita noNGo(listen) (listen); Spanish pronunciation : [lu’pita?noNGgo]; was born on the 1st of March, 1983. She is a Kenyan Mexican[2two. She is the recipient of many awards, including the Academy Award, and nominations for two Primetime Emmy Awards and a Tony Award.The daughter of Kenyan politician Peter Anyang' Nyong'o she was born in Mexico City, where her father taught. She was raised in Kenya at the age of three. She attended university in the United States and received a bachelor's in film and theatre studies from Hampshire College. Her career then began in Hollywood as a production assistant. She made her acting debut in 2008 with East River. In 2009 she returned to Kenya for a role on the show Shuga (2009 between 2009 and 2012). After completing her master's in acting at the Yale School of Drama, she continued to pursue an acting master's. After graduation, she was given her debut film role as Patsey in Steve McQueen's biopic 12 Years a Slave (2013) in which she received critical acclaim and won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.Nyong'o made her Broadway debut as a young orphan in the play Eclipsed (2015), for which she received the Tony Award for Best Actress in the Play. She then landed an action capture role in the role of Maz Kanata in the Star Wars sequel trilogy (2015-2019) and a voice role as Raksha in The Jungle Book (2016). The career of Nyong'o grew by her portrayal of Nakia in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero films Black Panther (2018) and its sequel (2022) and her starring role in Jordan Peele's horror film Us (2019).
