John Patrick McEnroe Jr. McEnroe, an American former professional tennis player, was born on February 16th, 1959. His volleying and shot-making skills and competition with Bjorn Borg and Jimmy Connors and Jimmy Connors, and his erratic court behavior frequently got his umpires in trouble. McEnroe is the sole male tennis player to hold the singles and doubles No. 1. He also took home one Grand Slam mixed doubles title at the French Open. The singles record he set in 1984 of 82-3 is the best single-season winning rate in the Open Era.
