Jeffrey Preston Bezos, /'beIzoUs/BAY-zohss, ne Jorgensen, was born January 12, 1964. He is the founder, the former president, and CEO of Amazon. Bezos has a net worth of US$109.3 million in January 2023. He was born in Albuquerque and grew up in Houston and Miami. He has a degree both in computer science and electrical engineering. From 1986 to 1994, he worked in various related fields on Wall Street. Bezos founded Amazon in late 1994, while on an adventure between New York City and Seattle. Amazon started out as an online bookstore. It has since expanded to include audio and video streaming as well as cloud computing and artificial intelligence. It is the largest online sales organization, the largest Internet company by revenue, and the largest provider of virtual assistants and cloud infrastructure services through its Amazon Web Services branch.
