Giannis Sina Ugo Antetokounmpo[a] (born Adetokunbo; December 6 1994) is a Greek-Nigerian professional basketball player with the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Antetokounmpo's country of origin along with his speed, size as well as strength and ball-handling skills have earned him the nickname "Greek Freak".Born and raised in Athens to Nigerian parents, Antetokounmpo began playing basketball with the teams for youth of Filathlitikos in Athens. Antetokounmpo began playing in the club's senior basketball team in 2011. He was later selected by the Bucks as the 15th overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. He was the leader of the Bucks in five statistical categories throughout 2016-17. He was the first player to complete a regular-season in the top 20 for each of the five statistics such as total points, rebounds, and assists. In 2017, he won the Most Improved Player Award. Antetokounmpo has earned six All-Star selections, including being chosen as an All-Star captain in 2019 and 2020 as he was the top vote-getter in the Eastern Conference in voting in the past two years.
