New York-born Hawaiian siblings Pili and Ioane "E" temporarily relocate from New York to Oahu with their mother Leilani to assist her father Kimo who's health and financial problems are becoming grave. Pili is a huge geocaching enthusiast, and her malaise about being cut off from her home in New York is assuaged by the secretly releasing of a diary that was kept by her grandfather's art studio. E On his own, gets distracted by Hana who is a beautiful girl from Hana who has huge dreams. As Pili sets off on a search that resembles the Goonies for pirate treasure The siblings discover their Hawaiian heritage. Pili is supported by Casper, a local boy who is resourceful and geeky, as are E as well as Hana.
