Alba Baptista began her career at the age of 16, playing the main character in Simao Cayatte's short film Miami. She won the Festival Iberico de Cine Best Actress Award for her performance. Her acting career was further enhanced by her appearances in the Portuguese series A Criacao as well as the Telenovelas A Impostora, and Jogo Duplo. During the following years, Alba developed a strong cinema career in Portugal as well as playing roles in three popular Portuguese series. Caminhos Magnetykos, in which Alba played "Catarina", and Equinocio (directed by Ivo Ferreira) are two examples of her work in film. In 2019, she starred in the movie Patrick which was the directorial debut of Goncalo Waddington. It was part of the competition for San Sebastian International Film Festival, where it premiered. She also starred in Fatima in 2020, which was the first directorial debut of Goncalo Wddington. It was in competition at the San Sebastian International Film Festival where it premiered.
