Booker scored 54 points during the Laurel MLK shootout against Northeast Jones High School. He fell nine short of the LitterialGreen Moss Point record of 62 points in one game. Booker scored just one point during the championship game against Pascagoula High School. Moss Point was defeated by Pascagoula 32-32. This set the stage for the possibility of playing an away match against Wayne County High School, the current South State champion. Wayne County focused their defense on Booker and held him to one first-quarter free shot and securing an 57-37 win that ended Moss Point's season. For the year, Booker scored 22.8 points per game and was named the South Mississippi Player of the Year by the Sun Herald, becoming just the second sophomore to be given this honor.In the news release, the paper reported that Booker held scholarship offers from Ole Miss, Alabama, Georgetown, Michigan and South Alabama.
