Bettany Hughes

 As an invited researcher at King's College London and previously as a teacher at the Cambridge University's Institute of Continuing Education and an honorary fellow of Cardiff University, Hughes is a presenter and writer of numerous documentaries and shows on ancient and modern subjects. In 2009, she received the Naomi Sargant Special Award for excellence in educational broadcasting, and in 2012 she was given the Norton Medlicott Award in recognition of her contributions to history by the Historical Association, of which she is an honorary fellow.In 2010 she presented the Hellenic Institute's Tenth Annual lecture "Ta Erotika The Things of Love", and in 2011, she delivered the Royal Television Society's Huw Wheldon Memorial Lecture, in which she argued that history on television is flourishing and enjoying a new golden age. In 2011, she chaired the Orange Prize for Fiction, [the only award in the UK that is given annually for female-authored novels].
