Ayn Rand

 Alice O'Connor, born Alisa Zinovyevna Rosenbaum. [cFebruary 2 [O.S. Alice O'Connor (born Alisa Zinovyevna Rosenbaum;[c] February 2 February 2, 1982 [O.S. Her work is renowned for its writing and also for establishing her own philosophical system, which she called Objectivism. She was born and raised in Russia her first move was to the United States in 1926. Her novel of 1943, The Fountainhead, was her first major success. She also wrote two Broadway plays and a novel that failed. Rand's most famous work, Atlas Shrugged, was published in 1957. Following that, and until her death in 1982 she turned to non-fiction to promote her philosophy, publishing her own periodicals and publishing several collection of essays.Rand promoted reason as the sole method of gaining knowledge; she rejected religion and faith. She advocated rational and ethical egoism and opposed altruism. She opposed anarchismand statism and collectivism in politics. She favored laissez-faire capitalism, which she defined as a system that respects individual rights as well as private property rights. While Rand opposed libertarianism, which she considered to be anarchism, she's frequently associated with the contemporary libertarian movement of the United States. In her the art world, Rand promoted romantic realism. She was highly critic of the majority of philosophers and philosophical tradition that were known to her, except for Aristotle, Thomas Aquinas, and classical liberals.
