Angelina Jolie DCMG (/dZoU'li born Angelina Jolie-Voight; [June 4, 1975) is an American actress, director and humanitarian. She was in biographical cable movies George Wallace (1997) and Gia (1998). In 1999, she received the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for Girl, Interrupted. Her starring role as the title video game heroine in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) established her as a leading Hollywood actress. Her action-film career grew with Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005) and Wanted (2008). Salt (2010) and The Tourist (2010). The actress received praise and nominations for her performance in the dramatic films A Mighty Heart (2007), Changeling (2008) and Salt (2010). Her most notable commercial successes include the fantasy film Maleficent (2014) and the sequel to it in 2019, as well as the action film Eternals (2021). Since 2008, she's been a voice actor in Kung Fu Panda's animated series. Jolie has also written and directed the war dramas In the Land of Blood and Honey (2011) and Unbroken (2014).
