Taraji P. Henson

 Taraji Penda Henson[1][2] [t@’r 11 September 1970She is an American actress from the United States. After completing her studies in acting at Howard University, she began her Hollywood career as a guest on a variety of television shows. Her debut came with Baby Boy (2001). She played a prostitute on Hustle & Flow (2005) in which she was awarded an award called the Screen Actors Guild Award in the category of Outstanding Performance in an Actor Cast in a Motion Picture nomination. In 2008, she portrayed the character of a single mother with a child who is disabled in David Fincher's The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008) for which she was awarded Critics Choice Award, SAG Award as well as Academy Award nominations for Best Supporting Actress. She was a part of Date Night in 2010 and was also a co-star on the remake of The Karate Kid with Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith. Henson also has a long and lucrative television career that includes shows like The Division, Boston Legal, as well as Eli Stone. She was a part of Taken from Me: Tiffany Rubin Story for Lifetime Television in 2011, which led to her being nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award as Outstanding Lead Actress in a Movie or Limited Series. She was a part of Person of Interest from 2011 until 2013. In recognition of this, she received the NAACP Image Award. She was a part of Think Like a Man (2012) and the sequel (2014). She made her debut as Cookie Lyon in the drama series on Fox Empire in the year 2015. In the year 2015, she became the first African-American woman on television to be awarded the Critics' Choice Television Award for the Best Actress in a Drama Series. She was also nominated for Emmy Awards 2015 and 2016 and also won the Golden Globe Award.
