  Ronda Jean Rousey (/'raUzi/;[12born on February 1, 1987) is an American professional wrestler and actress. She was also a former judoka, and mixed martial artist. She is currently signed by WWE and performs under the SmackDown brand. She is also the current SmackDown Women's Champion in her second term. She is most famous for her involvement in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). 13 Roddy Piper was a professional wrestler who gave her the nickname "Rowdy". She was the first American woman to be awarded an Olympic medal for Judo during the 2008 Summer Olympics. Rousey started her career in mixed martial arts in 2011 with King of the Cage. She later became a member of Strikeforce, becoming their last Women's Bantamweight Champion until its acquisition by UFC. (15) Rousey was part of the company's first ever female bout at UFC 157, was their inaugural Women's Bantamweight Champion, and held the record for the most UFC title defenses (6) by an female until she was surpassed by Valentina Shevchenko in 2022. Rousey retired from MMA in 2016 and was the first female fighter inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018. Rousey made her debut as a professional wrestler in 2018, signing with WWE,[21] and made her debut at WrestleMania 34. She was awarded the Raw Women's Championship at that year's SummerSlam and was the main event of the first all-women's pay-per view of WWE's debut when she defended her title at WWE Evolution. Rousey lost her title in the first ever women's WrestleMania main event at WrestleMania 35. Rousey returned at Royal Rumble 2022, winning the women's Royal Rumble match. In a losing effort, she challenged Charlotte Flair to the SmackDown Women's Championship at Wrestlemania 38. In WrestleMania Backlash the following month, Rousey defeated Flair in an "I Quit" match to take home the SmackDown Women's Championship. She later lost the title to Liv Morgan due to a money-in-the-bank cash-in . She then regained her title at Extreme Rules making her a two-time SmackDown Womens Champion.
