Courteney Bass Cox (previously Courteney Cox Arquette; born on June 15, 1964)is an American actress and film maker. She received international recognition for her starring role in the role of Monica Geller on the NBC sitcom Friends, which aired from 1994 to 2004. She was nominated for seven Screen Actors Guild Awards, one of which she won. She received further recognition for starring as Gale Weathers in the horror film franchise Scream (1996-present). She has also appeared in Family Ties (1987-1989), Lucy Spiller (1907-2008) and Jules Cobb (1909-2015) on ABC/TBS. Cox and her husband David Arquette, founded the production company Coquette Productions. She also worked as director for her sitcom Cougar Town, the television drama film TalhotBlond (2012) as well as the drama in black comedy Just Before I Go (2014).
