Luis Miguel

 Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri, born on 19 April 1970, is born in Puerto Rico and is a Mexican musician. He is frequently referred to as El Sol de Mexico, the nickname his mother gave him. Luis Miguel sings in various styles and genres, including ballads, pop songs (boleros) and Tangos (jazz, big band) mariachi, as well as jazz. Luis Miguel is the only Latin artist who has not made the transition into the Anglo market during the "Latin Explosion" that took place in the late 1990s. Luis Miguel is the youngest male artist to win this honor, and he won his first Grammy in 1991 for "Me Gustas Tal Como Eres" which that he composed together with Sheena Easton. The RIAA gave him two platinum-certified albums in Spanish in 1991 for Segundo Romance. It was the first Latin artist to be awarded this honor. Segundo Romance earned him 35 platinum records across Central and South America. Billboard also acknowledges his work.
