Karen Sheila Gillan, /'gIl@nborn on 28 November 1987, and is an actress from Scotland. Scottish actress. Her work on British film and television brought her fame, particularly for her character Amy Pond, the primary character of Doctor Who's Eleventh Doctor in Doctor Who (2010-2013), which was nominated for and won numerous awards. Jane Lockhart and Ally were her first film roles in the romantic comedy Not Another Happy Ending (2013). In Britain she also appeared on stage, initially playing in John Osborne's production of the play Inadmissible Evidence (2011) and later making her Broadway debut in Time to Act (2013). She was the first actress from America to become a major in Oculus (2013) and it was her first major commercial success. Following that she starred in the lead role on ABC's comedy Selfie (2014). Her international fame was due to her performance of Nebula in the Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero films Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. (2014) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017), Avengers: Infinity War (2018) and Avengers: Endgame (2019) and Thor: Love and Thunder (2022). She will reprise her character in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023). 3 (2023). She also wrote and director of The Party's Only Beginning (2018) in which she was the main character. The public image of her and her activism particularly in the field of suicide prevention, are highly praised.
