Steve Martin

 Stephen Glenn Martin (born August 14 1945) is an American actor comedian, writer, producer, and musician. He has received five Grammy Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and was also awarded an Honorary Academy Award in 2013. [1] Additionally, he was nominated for two Tony Awards for his musical Bright Star in 2016. In addition to numerous awards, he has received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, the Kennedy Center Honors and an AFI Life Achievement Award. Martin was ranked 6th on Comedy Central's list of 100 stand-up comedians in 2004. He was also awarded the Kennedy Center Honors as well as the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, and the AFI Life Achievement Award. Martin first came to attention in the 1960s when he was a writer for The Smothers Brother Comedy Hour. In 1969 the show was honored with a Primetime Emmy Award. Martin's offbeat and absurdist comedy routines became a big hit in the 1970s when he performed them before packed theaters on national tours. Since the 1980s, when he retired from stand-up comedy, Martin has become a successful actor, appearing in such films as The Jerk (1979), Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid (1982), The Man with Two Brains (1983), All of Me (1984), Three Amigos (1986), Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987), Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988), L.A. Story (1991), Bowfinger (1999) and Looney Tunes: Back in Action (2003). Martin was also a part of several family-oriented films, such as Parenthood (1989), Father of the Bride (1991-1995) and All of Me (1984) Three Amigos (1986), and Bowfinger (1999).
