 Turner was chosen to play Sansa Stark as a young noblewoman on the HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones in August 2009. The filming started in July of 2010, at the time Turner was 14 years old. [9] Sansa was Turner's first television role. Turner was encouraged by her drama teacher to audition for the role. 10] She dyed her blonde hair auburn to play the role.
