 After having graduated from Valley High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico,[9] Kelly returned to Los Angeles. Kelly was on an audition with an agency that was modeling when she was asked to handle her by an old Playboy Playmate. Kelly was able an opening as a receptionist at an operating room for surgeons in which she was offered breast augmentation for a fee. Kelly decided against getting the procedure and was dismissed. Kelly was then exposed to the medical profession and she enrolled in school to learn how to become surgeon's assistant. Kelly then became scrub tech. Kelly continued to audition for roles on television and in film throughout the time she worked in this vocation. In 2003 she began her acting career in The Turbo Charged Prelude for 2 Fast 2 Furious. The short film is a six-minute introduction for the action film 2 Fast 2 Furious. The film was followed by a special appearance on Cracking Up. She has since appeared in a number of television shows such as Entourage, Drake & Josh and American Dreams. In 2005, Kelly landed a three episode recurring role in The WB comedy series What I Like About You.In April 2006, Kelly was cast as a series regular on the NBC drama series Friday Night Lights. It was based on the high school football movie that has a similar title. The show is based on the story of a fictional high school football team located in Dillon. Kelly played Lyla Garrity as a high school cheerleader and student. Kelly trained with the Pflugerville High School cheerleading team in preparation for her role. The show debuted on October 3, 2006. Kelly was praised by The New York Times for her performance, calling it "heartbreaking". Kelly left the series after the third season. The character she played had left for college. Kelly starred as Tammy Boyles in The Pumpkin Karver, a horror slasher movie. Kelly also played a minor role in State's Evidence. She was reunited with Friday Night Lights creator Peter Berg, appearing in a cameo role as Ms. Ross in The Kingdom alongside Jamie Foxxes as well as Jennifer Garner in 2007. In addition, she was featured in the movie 500 Days of Summer's final scene, playing Autumn which could be a potential new love potential for Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Kelly was cast in August 2008 as the protagonist of The CW's pilot series Body Politic. Kelly was Francesca Foster, the young woman who is in Washington, D.C., to become a senator. She also befriends many promising actors. Although the pilot received praise from those who watched the pilot, The CW did not pick up the series. Kelly was also part of the pilot for CBS' short-lived comedy series Mad Love. She played the part of Kate in Midwestern girl Henry, and they fell in love in the Empire State Building. When the series was renewed, Kelly was replaced by Sarah Chalke. In April of 2010, Kelly appeared on the NBC drama series Parenthood. She played an aid to behavior to the character of a child Max who has Asperger syndrome. Kelly was later seen in the series for nine times before appearing in the episode "Taking the Leap" which was aired on March 29, 2011. Kelly was also named "Sexiest Women Alive" by Esquire magazine in the same year. Five years ago, Kelly took on the role of Love, Loss and What I Wore the Off Broadway play, which was staged from April 27 to 29, 2011. The cast included Conchata Ferrell, Anne Meara, AnnaLynne McCord and B. Smith. In December 2010, ABC announced that Kelly was to be cast in the planned reboot crime-drama Charlie's Angels. She played street racer Eve French. The pilot was shot in March 2011 , and the series was renewed on May 13, 2011. Charlie's Angels aired to more than 8.76 million viewers on the 22nd of September 2011. The series received unanimously negative critiques from critics. Despite the planned 13 episodes, ABC cancelled the series following the premier of the fourth episode due to low ratings. [15] The series ended on November 10, 2011.
