Marilyn Monroe

Marilyn Monroe (/maer@lIn m@n@roU/ Marilyn Monroe (born Norma Jeane Mortenson; July 1st, 1926 - August 4, 1962), was an American actress. Her most famous work is her humorous "blonde-bombshell" role. This made her one of the most well-known sexual icons of the 1960s and 1950s. It also became an icon of the sexual revolution. The films she made earned her 200 million dollars, which equates to $2 billion by 2021. Monroe was a big star for more than 10 years. 3 Monroe remains a major celebrity even after her passing. 4 The American Film Institute placed Monroe as sixth on its list of the top screen actresses of the Golden Age of Hollywood. Many film critics and media outlets have deemed Monroe as one of the most outstanding actors who have never been awarded an Academy Award. Monroe was born in Los Angeles and spent her childhood in 12 foster homes as well as an orphanage. She got married at the age of 16. At the time that World War II broke out and Monroe began working in an industrial facility. She was introduced to a photographer who was part of the First Motion Picture Unit. The result was a brief career as pin-up models. In the latter half of 1950, following some small roles in films, she signed an agreement with Fox. She became a well-known actress throughout the following two decades, playing roles in a variety of comedies, including As Young as You Feel, Monkey Business, as also in the dramatic films Clash by Night, and Don't Be Afraid to Knock. The actress was a target of scandal when it was discovered that she had taken naked photos prior to becoming a star. But, the scandal did not hurt her career, but rather increased her enthusiasm for her films.
