Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Brianne Clarkson [a] was born on April 24 in 1982. She is an American writer, singer and a television host. Following her win on the season 2002 of American Idol, she was an instant star and was awarded RCA an exclusive record deal. "A Moment Like This" was her first single that was a top hit on the US Billboard Hot 100. It was also the country's most-sold single of 2002. It was a track from her debut album Thankful (2003) that was released on the top spot of the Billboard 200. Clarkson quit Idol management to concentrate on pop and re-imagine her look in the form of Breakaway (2004). Breakaway was backed by four US Top Ten Singles which included the album's title song, "Since U Been Gone" as well as "Behind These Hazel Eyes" that has sold over 12 million copies around the world. The album also received two Grammy Awards. Clarkson was also a creative force in the making of her third studio album, My December (2007). She wrote all the tracks and was the executive producer. The label was not happy with the album's more dark rock sound, so she was reluctant to promote the album. Clarkson's fourth and fifth studio albums The albums, The Best I Ever Wanted (2008) and Stronger (2011) The latter, however, was more light in their tone and featured an edgy pop-rock sound. The first album became her second US top-selling album, and the latter made her the first musician twice to be awarded the Grammy Award. Both albums released the Hot 100 number one single, "My Life Would Suffer Without You" that holds the record for the highest leap to the top spot in the history of charts.
