Katy Perry

 Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, born on October 25, 1984, is an American TV personality and singer-songwriter. Her influence on pop music as well as her unique style are widely recognized. Vogue called her the "Queen of Camp". Perry, who was 16 when she started a career as a gospel artist, released her first album, Katy Hudson under Red Hill Records, in the year 2001. It was not a success commercially. The singer moved to Los Angeles at 17 to explore secular music, and then took on the stage name "Katy Perry" after her mother's maiden name. The album she recorded was titled Fingerprints when she was signed to Columbia Records, but was dismissed before signing with Capitol Records She rose to notoriety through One of the Boys (2008) the pop rock record containing her debut single "I Kissed a Girl" and follow-up single "Hot n Cold", which reached number one and three on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 respectively. The disco-influenced album Teenage Dream (2010) spawned five U.S. number one singles--"California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T. ", and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F. )"--becoming the first and sole album by one female solo artist to do so. Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection (2012) is a new edition of the album, recorded "Part of Me", which was the U.S. number one hit single. Perry's fourth album, which was dance-inspired, Prism (2013) had themes of empowerment and two U.S. number one singles "Roar" and "Dark Horse". Perry's music videos were among the first to hit 1 billion views on Vevo. Witness an electropop album featuring themes of feminism with an underlying political message was her 2017 album. Smile (2020), however, was influenced by her recent motherhood. After that, she began her sold-out Las Vegas concert residency titled Play (2021-present) and was met with the praise of critics and commercial successes.
