The actress made her debut on film in The Dukes of Hazzard (2005) as Daisy Duke. The film's soundtrack also featured her, and she also composed an original cover version of "These boots are made to Walk" The singer released her fifth studio album, A Public Affair, in 2006 and also appeared in the romantic comedy film The Employee of the month. The sixth studio album of Simpson, Do You Know (2008) was her first album to transition to the country genre. She was also in the romantic comedy film Employee of the month. In 2005, Simpson founded The Jessica Simpson Collection The Jessica Simpson Collection, an apparel line. The company has generated more than 1 billion dollars in sales so far. In 2010, she was a star in The Price of Beauty, in which she judged the fashion designs of two seasons on Fashion Star. Simpson also released Open Book in 2020, an autobiography that ranked the top spot on The New York Times Bestsellers List shortly after it was published.
