Chancelor Johnathan Bennett (born on April 16, 1993) is known as Chance the Rapper is an American artist, rapper and record producer. Born and raised in Chicago, Bennett released his debut mixtape 10 Day in 2012. He began to gain the attention of the public in 2013 after releasing his second mixtape, Acid Rap. [3] He then released his third mixtape, Coloring Book in 2016, which garnered further critical acclaim and attention. He was awarded three Grammy Awards for it, including Best Rap Album. It was also the first exclusively streaming album ever to be awarded an Grammy Award. It peaked at number 8 on the Billboard 200. In the year 2019, his debut album as a studio, The Big Day, was released. Alongside his solo work, Bennett is also a member the Chicago collective Savemoney and the vocalist for The Social Experiment. They released Surf in 2015 with the help of Nico Segal, the trumpeter. He is also active with social activism within the Chicago neighborhood where he is.
