Carmelo Anthony

 Carmelo Kyam Anthony, born May 29, 1984 was an American professional basketball player. He most recently played for the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA) in the year 1985. He has been named an NBA All-Star 10 times and was an All-NBA Team player six times. As a college basketball player at Syracuse Orange, he won an NCAA championship in 2003 while freshman and was voted the NCAA Tournament's top player. Anthony was selected to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021 and is widely recognized as one of the most prolific scorers in NBA time. Anthony was the 3rd overall selection of the Denver Nuggets' 2003 NBA draft. While playing in Denver, he led the Nuggets to the playoffs every year from 2004 to 2010, and the team took home two division titles in that period. Anthony led the Nuggets to their first appearance in the Conference Finals since 1985. Anthony was traded to the New York Knicks from Denver in the year 2011, just days prior to the NBA trade deadline. Anthony recorded a career-high 62 points in an exhibition game against the Charlotte Bobcats on January 24 in 2014. This was a Knicks single-game scoring record and also a Madison Square Garden single day scoring record. 4 Anthony was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, where was a player for one season, before an uncharacteristic period with the Houston Rockets. He played for two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers prior to joining the Los Angeles Lakers.Anthony has participated in the Olympics for the US national team a record four times. He won an Olympic bronze medal with the 2004 team as well as gold medals for the 2012, 2008, and the 2016 Olympic teams. As of April , 2016, he was the US Olympic team's all-time leader in terms of points, rebounds as well as games played. 6 He is currently ninth in the all-time NBA scoring list.
