Wonder Woman was created by William Moulton Marston, an American psychologist and writer (pen name: Charles Moulton), along with Harry G. Peter. Marston's wife Elizabeth and their love-life partner Olive Byrne are believed to be his sources of inspiration for Wonder Woman's appearance. The first appearance of the character appeared in All Star Comics #8 on October 21 1941. Her first appearance was in Sensation Comics #1, January 1942. The Wonder Woman title has been published by DC Comics almost continuously ever since. Her name in her home country, Themyscira (an island nation), is Princess Diana of Themyscira. In her attempts to blend into society that is not her own and embracing her name as a civilian, Diana Prince.Wonder Woman's origin story (from Golden to Bronze Age) is that she was sculpted out of clay by her mother, Queen Hippolyta and was given a life as an Amazon and supernatural powers, as gifts from the Greek gods. DC changed her story in 2011 by revealing that she was the biological child of Zeus and Hippolyta. She was raised jointly by her mother, Antiope and Menalippe. The character has changed in appearance over time, including briefly losing her power completely in the late 1960s; by the 1980s, the artist George Perez gave her an sporty look and emphasised her Amazonian heritage. She has a collection of incredible items, like the Lasso of Truth, a pair of bracelets that are indestructible, a tiara which serves as projectiles, and in the older stories, a range of gadgets that are inspired by Amazon technology.
