Windy City Rehab is an American television series which airs on HGTV. It stars Alison Victoria, an interior designer who handles renovations to homes located in Chicago, Illinois, with contractor Donovan Eckhardt (season one and the first part of season 2). Contrary to many HGTV shows, these projects are all based in cities, including townhouses and apartments. The majority of these homes are more than 100 years old and some are listed as landmarked. This presents challenges to the construction and design. On January 1st, 2019, the first season of 11 episodes was broadcast. The production of the second season was delayed due to coronavirus. The show was broadcast in 2021. The third season premiered in April 2022.n every episode, a house that is being considered is visited by Alison and Donovan who discuss its potential to redesign or resell value (houses are purchased with no client in mind). After purchase and development of a design plan they begin demolition work, during which unexpected problems with construction often occur which add to the construction cost and schedule. The show alternates between construction scenes as well as Alison's salvage and purchase of decorative and furniture components. This is appropriate for the historic period of the home. Once construction is completed, the house is presented to potential buyers and they are invited to visit to see the renovated interior and exterior.
