Russell Westbrook III, born on November 12, 1988 Russell Westbrook III, born on November 12, 1988, is an American professional basketball player with the Los Angeles Lakers (NBA). He is part of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team and was awarded the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for the 2016-17 season. He was additionally an All-NBA Team member and led scoring for the league in both 2014-15 and 2016-17. In 2015, he won the NBA All-Star Game MVP award. In 2017, Westbrook became the first player in NBA history to record more than a triple-double during one season. It was Oscar Robertson in 1962. With 42 triple-doubles, he set a record. He averaged a triple-double over the following two seasons and was also the league's top player with assists. He was also the first player to be the leader for multiple seasons in both points and assists. He averaged a triple-double in 2020-21, [4] and surpassed Robertson to become the NBA's highest-recorded triple-doubler.
