Ronaldo de Assis Moreira (born 21 March 1980) is commonly referred to as Ronaldinho Gaucho (Brazilian Portuguese: [Ronaw'dZinu ga'uSu]) or simply Ronaldinho,[note is the name of a Brazilian retired professional footballer who primarily played as an attacking midfielder but also as an winger. The widely acclaimed as one of the greatest footballers of all time, Ronaldinho won two FIFA World Player of the Year awards as well as the Ballon d'Or. He was a global famous figure in futsal, and was renowned for his technical abilities and creativity, as well as his dribbling abilities. When he was 20 he made the move to Paris Saint-Germain in France before signing for Barcelona in 2003. In his second season at Barcelona, he won his first FIFA World Player of the Award as Barcelona took home the 2004-05 La Liga title. The following season is considered one of the best in his career, as Ronaldinho was a key player in Barcelona winning the 2005-06 UEFA Champions League, their first title in 14 years, and another La Liga title, giving Ronaldinho his first double of his career winning the 2005 Ballon d'Or and his second FIFA World Player of the Year award. After scoring two spectacular solo goals in the first 2005-06 El Clasico, Ronaldinho became the second Barcelona player, after Diego Maradona in 1983, to receive a standing ovation by Real Madrid fans at the Santiago Bernabeu.
