Verasamy completed her college degree and was meteorologist at the Weather Centre of the Press Association (later changed its name to Meteogroup, Europe's largest private Weather Company) and wrote weather forecasts for radio, television and newspapers. Verasamy was a former meteorologist who worked for the Sky Weather Centre as a meteorologist trainee prior to joining Sky and became a regular meteorologist on Sky News's morning show. Verasamy was able to answer questions from the public regarding climate change. Alongside contributing to the Sky News The Weather Girls blog, she joined Daybreak's recently launched ITV Breakfast program Daybreak as an environmental and weather correspondent. McCabe left the show on February 7, 2012, which made Verasamy the sole weather forecaster. McCabe also quit the show on August 2, 2012.
