The Labyrinth is a part of Greek mythology (Greek: Laburinthos or Labyrinthos) [a] was a complex and confusing structure Daedalus was a famous artist constructed for the king of Minos Crete in Knossos. It was intended to accommodate the Minotaur, that was later destroyed by Theseus. Daedalus created the Labyrinth so well that it was nearly impossible to get out of. But the single-path (unicursal), seven-course "Classical" design that did not have dead ends or branches was a common occurrence in the Labyrinth from the year 430 BC. Similar patterns that did not branch were extensively utilized to represent the Labyrinth visually. The visual representations of the mythical Labyrinth that date back to Roman time to the Renaissance generally unicursal. Hedge mazes, which were more popular during the Renaissance period, were the sole time mazes with branches were revived.
