Kyle Miyata Larson, born July 31st, 1992 was an American professional driver in auto racing. He is the driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Hendrick Motorsports. Larson is the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Champion, the 2012 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East winner and Rookie of the Year and the 2013 NASCAR Nationwide Series rookie of the year and the 2014 Cup Series rookie of the year. Larson was also a highly accomplished dirt track racer, winning at events of a high profile like the Kings Royal, Knoxville Nationals and the Chili Bowl Nationals. Larson won at Pocono following the race was canceled because of the rain that fell on lap 53. After defeating Joey Logano, he won at Auto Club Speedway. After having led 137 laps, Larson took home his eighth win of his career at Dover. Larson drove the No. 17 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports at Road America. He was the winner of the opening stage and was the leader for the most laps. But, he was unable to hold off to Ty Gibbs in the final lap, and finished second.
