In 1955, Rohn joined Shoaff's direct selling company AbundaVita as a distributor. In the year 1957, Rohn resigned his distributorship with AbundaVita and joined Nutri-Bio, another direct selling company. The company's founders, including Shoaff began to coach Rohn. Rohn was able to create one of the top companies around the globe through the mentorship. Rohn was asked by his Rotary Club to address the club following Nutri-Bio was shut down in the year 1960. He accepted, and soon other people started asking to be invited to speak at luncheons and other events. The first time he gave a seminar was on public television at the Beverly Hills Hotel in 1963.
