Jennifer Anne Garner (born April 17th in 1972) is an American actress who is widely famous for her portrayal of CIA officer Sydney Bristow in the ABC spy-action thriller TV series Alias (2001-2006) and also for her performance in the romantic comedy film 13 Going on 30 (2004). Garner has been awarded numerous awards including a Golden Globe Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award with nominations for four Primetime Emmy Awards.Jennifer was born in Houston, Texas, and was raised in Charleston, West Virginia, Garner studied theater at Denison University and began acting as an understudy for the Roundabout Theatre Company in New York City. Her screen debut was in the television adaptation of Danielle Steel's novella romance Zoya in 1995. There were guest appearances on television and supporting film roles, as well as an appearance on the teen drama television series Time of Your Life (1999-2000) as well as a role of support in the war drama Pearl Harbor (2001).Garner gained recognition for her leading performance in the role of CIA officer Sydney Bristow in the ABC spy-action thriller television series Alias (2001-2006). For her work on the show, she received the Golden Globe for Best Actress for a Television Series Drama and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actress in a Television Drama and also four consecutive nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Drama Series. Her commercial success continued through her roles in Juno (2007) and the romantic comedy Ghosts of Girlfriends Past (2010).
